Workshop with Mandragore: Music of the Near East on the harp
To coincide with her Strings of Silk concert, travelling harpist Mandragore is offering a workshop on Saturday 23 November from 2 to 4 pm.
Near Eastern and central Asian music works differently to our Western music. Largely modal, these musics have developed around these musical modes and their particular usages. After an introduction to this musical world, and a brief look at the history of the indigenous harp (Cheng), we’ll discover how an Eastern mode works through a Kurdish piece.
Free Booking required for both participants and observers.

The Collection Hexagone is a series of events organized by Camac to promote the harp in all its forms in the regions of France. Over the past year, events have taken place in Sallaumines, Avignon and Montpellier.
At the end of November, the Collection Hexagone travels to Sète, where we will be welcomed by the Conservatoire Sète Agglopôle.
We’ll be joined by Doriane Cheminais and Sophie Bonduelle who in addition to her not-to-be-missed show (Sophie la harpiste, November 30) will be running a “clown and harp” workshop (December 1). On Sunday, there will be a concert by students from the region, an exciting musical play: Les Romanesques.
Of course, we’ll be there with an exhibition of our harps, and we’re offering free tuning for your Camac harp.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome the Trio Haydée for the launch concert of their new CD ‘Ciels d’or’. Marielou Jacquard (voice), Anastasie Lefebvre de Rieux (flutes) and Constance Luzzati (harp) founded the Trio Haydée in 2023, building up a repertoire carefully chosen for this atypical group, focusing their first disc on previously unpublished works by female composers of the past as well as more recent creations by Lili Boulanger, Pauline Viardot, Grace Williams, Rosy Wertheim, Elisenda Fabregas, Edith Lejet, Edith Canat de Chizy and Josephine Stephenson.
‘Ciels d’or” invites listeners on a journey from dusk to dawn. The skies ignite at dusk, marking the transformative moment as captured by poets and composers alike: vibrant twilight, the dream-filled night, swirling nightmares, glimmering stars, the radiant sun, dawn, or ethereal light. Aube, commissioned from author-illustrator Diglee and composer Josephine Stephenson, is at the centre of this journey.
Les Harpes Camac are partners of the 1%HARP association.
Every ticket sold at our events at Espace Camac contributes in its entirety to raising funds to create a genuine network of solidarity between harpists around the world.

30 Mar 2025
We are delighted to announce our co-sponsorship of The International Jeunesses Musicales Competition 2025, in Belgrade (Serbia). This will be a truly exceptional event because until the present time, the competition has rotated the featured instrument (for example, the competition of 2024 featured the clarinet). However, in 2025, the competition will spotlight the harp for the very first time.
One of the largest competitions of its type in the world, the International Jeunesses Musicales Competition Belgrade (IJMC Belgrade) exists with the aim to support the most talented young musicians at the beginning of their artistic careers.
The competition will take place 21-30 March 2025 (the deadline for applications is 25 January 2025) and is open to advanced harpists aged 15-35.
There is a preselection (made by video submission), after which selected applicants will then proceed to the live rounds, the third and final of which will be with orchestra.
Camac will contribute to the cash prizes offered by the competition, as well as a concert opportunity. Contestants will also be able to play on a selection of our harps, if they so choose.
In order to find full information on the proposed repertoire and how to apply, please visit the competition website.
