  • Lena Rummel is a harpist, composer and educator with a passion for performing, as well as passing on her great enthusiasm to students of all ages and levels of ability. On Saturday 8 June and In collaboration with our partners Camac harfen Deutschland, Lena is offering a taster course for absolute beginners, wherein she will demonstrate that the harp really is for everyone!

    On the Sunday, Lena will offer a workshop based around techniques for the learning and retention of new repertoire, which will be fascinating for harpists of any level. Held in Lindau against the magnificent backdrop of Lake Constance, there will of course be an exhibition of Camac harps to enjoy throughout proceedings.

    Charmingly, the motto of this weekend of events is from Goethe:

  • The 3rd Camac Prize Taiwan will take place in Taipei in June 2024. Organised by the Taiwan Harp Center and sponsored by Camac Harps, 

    We are delighted to see a most welcome return by this competition to the international stage, in its first edition since 2019.With solo and chamber categories for both advanced and junior levels, the prizes will be adjudicated by a panel of some of the most eminent harpists of the Asia-Pacific region. 

    There will be cash prizes, trophies and even a Camac odyssey up for grabs.

    Open to all nationalities, entry to the competition is via a simple online application. Please refer to the Camac prize Taiwan website for full information on rules and repertoire. The deadline for applications is 20 March, so don’t delay!

  • As the summer begins, we will embark for London, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance for the Camac Harp Days in conjunction with their departmental open day.  Professor of harp Gabriella Dall’Olio welcomes us to the school which is situated in the magnificent environs of the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. 

    On Sunday 23 June, eager students of the harp have the chance to take part in a masterclass with Gabriella and experience her inspirational teaching. Later, Jazz Harpist Felice Pomeranz, puts us through our paces in her Rhythm Bootcamp! And at the other end of the stylistic spectrum, specialist Aileen Henry invites us to an introductory session on early harp techniques.

    The day will close with the chance to hear one of the greatest harpists of today, with an unmissable recital by Isabelle Moretti.

    On Monday 24 June, students from the harp class at Trinity Laban will perform solos and chamber music in a showcase of the work they do at the school,  before working in a public masterclass with Isabelle Moretti, to which all are warmly invited to listen. What better way to close this magnificent weekend of events than by listening to the delicious harp and vocals of Tara Minton (with John Williamson on bass)?

    We are hugely grateful that throughout proceedings, Telynau Vining Harps, Camac’s representative in the UK and Ireland, will provide an exhibition of Camac harps for all to try.

  • Since 1984, the Rencontres Internationales de Harpes Celtiques have been a showcase for everything that concerns the small harp. The event brings together both professional and amateur harpists, instrument makers, trainees and teachers to build a festival that is unique unto itself.

    The festival celebrates every phase of harp creation in all its diversity, and there is room for everybody here, regardless of fame or status. The festival bears the worthy motto, “tradition & creation”, two principles which harmonise perfectly with the ethos of Camac.

    As such, we are delighted to have a strong presence at the festival, where our instruments can be tried and played upon by all comers.  Aside from our exhibition, this season’s guest stars include Kevin Le Pennec and Corinna Hewatt

  • We are delighted to support the Rave Harps International Prestige Award 2024. In its 7th edition, the awards will focus on the  harp as a solo instrument and is open to all nationalities. Excitingly, there will be a new Harp Ensemble Category this year, as well as solo rounds for lever and pedal harp, a concerto prize and special awards for musicianship and performance.

    There will also be an academy for participants with the opportunity to participate in workshops, masterclasses and take part in an International Harp Orchestra, where participants from all over will perform on stage together. There will be specially arranged music for the International orchestra, which will coincide with Singapore’s national holiday. 

    Registration and submission of qualifying video rounds will open 1 April and close 25 April, with the live rounds taking place 8-11 August. The Winners’ Gala concert will take place in the magnificent Victoria concert Hall, one of Singapore’s finest venues.

    Rave Harps International Prestige Award 2024
  • The Festival interceltique de Lorient takes place annually, and is one of the most important events of its kind. A completely multidisciplinary event, the richness of Celtic music, dance as well as all manner of traditional artists and artisans are celebrated in a convivial atmosphere.

    As one of the most revered instruments of Celtic culture, the harp is at the heart of the event, and as the festival reaches its height, we have enormous pride in presenting the Camac Celtic Harp Trophy.

    The grand prize is a magnificent Camac Aziliz Harp, in addition to numerous cash prizes. The festival is open to all Celtic harpists, without age limit.  Click here to download competition regulations and full details of how to enter.

  • From 14 to 22 September, the charming environs of Gignac and the surrounding area will host the 3rd edition of the
    Festival International de Harpe d’Occitanie. 

    The event has been spearheaded by the Association Clave du Sol, An organization created in February 2019 in order to set u  a structure dedicated to the practice of the harp and musical training in the Domaine de Rieussec in the commune of Gignac (Hérault – Occitanie), as well as this magnificent Harp Festival in Occitanie.

    Apart from the fantastic concerts on offer, with artists including Sylvain Blassel, Clelia Mertens Munoz, Claire Augier de Lallajet and the Trio Vermeil (Héloïse Dautry, harp; Charlotte Vanouche, flute: and Antoine Dautry, viola), Camac Harps will be present on September 21 and 22 to offer you a special selection of our fine instruments.

  • To open the 2024 / 2025 season of concerts and events at the Espace Camac, we are delighted to present an exceptional concert by Cécile Corbel.

    From Brittany to Great Britain, harpist and singer Cécile Corbel has explored the world of the Arthurian story and its mythical heroes to create a brand-new album, “ Graal ”, in which she will share several songs.

    Drawing on music from the musician’s previous albums, “La chanson D’Arrietty”, “Brian Boru” and “Le Bal des Chats” are also part of the adventure, taking us on a journey between Celtic forests, the moors of Brittany and the secret landscapes of eternal Japan.

    NOTE: Camac is a partner of the 1%HARP association.
