As summer fades into the freshness of early Autumn, we will be heading to the beautiful town of Lübeck for a weekend of classes, lessons and workshops with two outstanding harpists. In the magnificent surroundings of this ancient Hanseatic city, a town of magnificent spires, tile roofs and imposing churches, harpists can come and hone their skills under Professors Gesine Dreyer and Manja Smits.
Gesine Dreyer has been harpist at Opera Houses of Kiel and Frankfurt as well freelancing with the major German orchestras. Alongside her work in the orchestra, she has taught in the music academies of Hamburg, Berlin (Hans Eisler) and Lübeck. Manja Smits became the first harpist to receive the Netherlands Music Prize, and studied with such legendary harpists as Vera Dulova and Pierre Jamet. She will be sharing her combined passions for education (she is professor of the conservatoires of Groningen and Zwolle) and repertoire of all kinds.
There will of course be an exhibition of our magnificent harps, available to try and play throughout the duration of the course.
If you wish to participate in the classes or workshops, please send an email by 15 August 2023 to [email protected]

Two exceptional harpists and composers, Deborah Henson-Conant (nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Classical Crossover Album), and Evelyn Huber (ECHO JAZZ award winner), explore the stunning tonal possibilities achieved by two harps (and their creative spirit!), in items for solo, duo and large ensemble.
These two artists share a rich history of collaboration, mutual respect and the total expansion of the horizons of the harp.
Together with the Philharmonie Salzburg under the baton of Elisabeth Fuchs, this will be a performance by two doyennes in the fields of pop and jazz. This concert promises to be a veritable firework display of passion and emotion!
There will be two opportunities to hear them, with concerts on both 7 (at 19.30) and 8 October (at 18.00) at the Salzburg University Great hall, but don’t hesitate to visit the website of the Salzburg Philharmonie for tickets and more information.

The valleys of Eastern Catalonia will ring with the sound of the Celtic harp this November!
From 4-5 November 2023, Terrassa will play host to one of the most exciting players of the Celtic harp. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our friends in Spain to hear Kevin Le Pennec live in concert at the Municipal Auditorium of Terrassa.
A multifaceted talent as a harpist, singer, composer and author, his dynamic harp-playing and clear, powerful tenor make his performances unforgettable. There will also be a chance to learn from this leader of the rising Breton generation in workshops at the auditorium.
There will of course be an exhibition of our magnificent harps, available to try and play throughout the weekend.

A special edition of the Glowing harp festival will be taking place in Zagreb this November, hosted graciously by Tajana Vukelić Peić, artistic director of the Zagreb Harp Festival. Fittingly, the festival will be based around a ‘theme of synthesis in the arts’, and is organised in collaboration with Creative Europe (the European Union’s programme of cultural support).
Apart from performances by a host of Croatian harp talent, there will be concerts, workshops and masterclasses from international performers including Isabelle Moretti, Noelia Cotuna and Manja Smits. Naturally, there will also be an emphasis on showcasing the outstanding artistry of Ukrainian harpists, such as the inspirational Veronika Lemishenko, Viktoria Smetana and many others.
If you would like to attend or participate in any of the festival’s events, you can find the full registration form and schedule here!

An early Christmas Present for lovers of the harp!
We look very much forward to visiting Sallaumines this December! This will be a wonderful oppurtunity to work in courses with Quentin Vestur (celtic harp) and hear him in performance with Duo Ogma: a highly unusual combination of Celtic Harp and the Handpan (played by Titouan Gautier).
There will also be performance opportunities for the young harpists of the region, overseen by the excellent Catherine Dubois (who is teacher of harp at l’école de musique de Sallaumines); of course there will be an exhibition of our instruments every day, too!
