If you follow @CamacHarpsOfficial on Youtube, we hope you already know and love our online concerts. To date, our Les Jeudis de la Harpe series has delightedly published 45 brilliant concerts. Each concert is about half an hour long, broadcast free of charge afterwork on Thursday nights, and celebrates the huge creativity and range of styles throughout the harp community.
This creativity never shows any sign of slowing down and we are happy to announce the launch of Les Jeudis de la Harpe – season VI! We’ll start broadcasting on Thursday, December 8, 19:30 CET @CamacHarpsOfficial on YouTube. If you can join us for each premier and say hello to us on the chat, we love that! If you’re busy doing something else, we’re also ardent supporters of online broadcasting’s global accessibility – the videos will stay up, so by all means catch up later.
We’ll start broadcasting on Thursday, December 8, 19:30 CET @CamacHarpsOfficial on YouTube, with the Trio de la Plaine – the Trio from the Plains. They are: Murielle Kopff-Vérité (EC Llanera harp), Consuelo Uribe (voice, cello, cuatro, maracas) and Juan Garcia (maracas, cuatro, flute). Take a trip to South America and discover the breathtaking rhythms, tender waltzes and vivid, varying colours of Joropo llanero.

Next Thursday, December 15 at 19:30 on YouTube, Marie-Pierre will perform a virtuoso classical programme for us, including several of her own arrangements. Please download the programme here to find out more – and don’t miss this opportunity to hear one of the most exceptional harpists of her generation.

Sophye Soliveau (harp)
Carine Oumouchi (chorus)
Ari Kali (chorus)
Soula Aime (chorus)
Andy Berald-Catelo (drums)
Eric Segall (bass)New Soul is first and foremost a challenge: the challenge Sophye Soliveau set herself to sing soul music accompanied by a harp. Together with the gospel and jazz voices of Carine Oumouchi, Ari Kali and Soula Aime, and Eric Segall and Andy Berald-Catelo on bass and drums, she creates a timeless atmosphere. Her music is mystical and effervescent, soothing everyone’s ears and hearts.
Sophye Soliveau is a singer and harpist who has been nourished by Afro-American music since childhood. She is a member of Seksion Maloya (traditional music from Reunion Island) and Àbájade (Afro-jazz band with Cuban influences) on lead vocals, choirs and percussion. Passionate about vocal harmonies, from Francis Poulenc to Bobby Mc Ferrin, she also leads several vocal ensembles (Maré Mananga, Oshun and l’Atelier chorale) in which improvisation and the link with Afro-descendant music, particularly R&B and soul, play a central role.
