Camac France is sponsoring Carolina Coimbra‘s Lisbon Harp Seminar in March of this year. On the programme: a recital and masterclass by Veronika Lemishenko, Artistic Director of the “Glowing Harp” International Competition in Kharkiv, and Principal Harp with the Ural Philharmonic in Ekaterinburg. The weekend will also shine the spotlight on young Portuguese talent: Beatriz Cortesão, featured on Got Talent Portugal in 2018, will perform, and students can also work with Carolina directly in an additional masterclass. The event will take place in the fine setting of the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, and is free of charge to attend.

Telynau Vining Harps have been our partners in Wales for no fewer than twenty years! And so: they’re making their biennial Camac weekend their anniversary celebrations. An exceptional weekend awaits you on March 9th – 10th. Isabelle Moretti will return to Wales, with a solo recital in – fittingly, for her French/Spanish programme – the Impressionists Gallery at the National Museum. She’ll also give two masterclasses: one general, and one special class on Pierné’s Impromptu-Caprice.
There’s another classical masterclass opportunity with Caryl Thomas, Head of Harp at The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Claire Jones, formerly harpist to the Prince of Wales, will present C2: her unique harp and percussion duo with West End percussionist and emerging composer, Chris Marshall. There is also a wide variety of classes to suit all ages and musical tastes, with Claire, Chris, Natasha Gale and Heather Downie.
To add to the party, you can even book to have your Camac harp regulated free of charge!

Anneleen Lenaerts will soon release her latest disc – Nino Rota : Works for Harps (Warner Classics). You can get your hands on a pre-release copy on March 21st, 16:00 – 17:30 at L’Espace Camac Paris, and have it signed by Anneleen herself!
The first twenty reservations will receive a copy of this beautiful new CD with our compliments.
To register, please contact Sébastien Lehec and Olivier Galeraud at l’Espace Camac Paris.Anneleen is in Paris because she is also giving a trio concert in the Auditorium du Louvre, with colleagues Adam Walker (flute) and Timothy Ridout (viola). This will take place at 1230 on March 21st, the same day as our disc signing. L’Espace Camac is delighted to send an instrument for Anneleen for her concert, and because of this support we also have four tickets to give away! This is a superb opportunity to experience a classic Debussy trio programme, performed by some of its finest exponents in the world.

On March 23rd – 24th, we’ll be returning to Switzerland, for another great project with Elise Estavoyer and her association Harpes en Coeur.
On Saturday, March 23rd at 10AM in Aire-la-Ville, Tristan Le Govic will present the Camac DHC electric harp. Everybody is welcome, in an open and relaxed session with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Our international sales manager Thomas Pontoizeau will also be in Aire-la-Ville throughout the weekend with an exhibition.
Prior to this, it should be noted that Tristan – who will have been in Switzerland all week, working on the new arrangement with Elise’s students – will hold a session on the electric harp exclusively for Swiss harp teachers. Please contact Julie Campiche to register.
On Sunday, March 24th, the Tristan Le Govic Trio, and members of Harpes en Coeur, will perform at the Salle communale d’Onex, with the concert starting at 5PM. Tristan and his colleagues Tangi le Henanff (bass) and Alan Quéré-Moysan (drums) have recently been awarded the Trophée Fest-Noz « Nevez Flamm » 2018. This will come as no surprise to anyone already familiar with their groovy, dancing take on Breton music – and if you haven’t already experienced it, here’s a perfect chance to do so!

We are pleased to be supporting the Second “Glowing Harp” International Competition, which will take place in Kharkiv in April of this year. The brainchild of Larisa Klievtsova and Veronika Lemishenko, Glowing Harp began thanks to the support of Valeriy Altuknov, the director of Kharkiv High Music School, and Yuri Yanko, director and chief conductor of the Kharkiv State Philharmonic. The first open harp competition took place in 2006, and in 2017, the competition went international for the first time.
There are categories for both solo and harp duo, from beginners to 25 and under. Thanks to the partnership of the Kharkiv State Philharmonic, the competitions are a particularly good way to gain concerto experience: the final stages of the solo <14, <18 and >25 are all with orchestra or chamber orchestra.
Full information – repertoire, rules, logistics and application details – is available on the competition website. It’s not the first time Camac has been to the Ukraine: we had a fascinating visit to the First Ukrainian International Harp Conference in 2009, and are looking forward to our return, this time to Kharkiv, in April.
