Fourth Zagreb Harp Festival, April 2016

April 11, 2016
We’re excited about the Fourth Zagreb Harp Festival, which will take place from April 23rd – 28th. As ever, it offers a wonderful – and very busy! – programme of both Croatian artists, and international guests. There will be classical recitals, masterclasses and private lessons from Chantal Mathieu and Ieuan Jones; chamber music; lever harp duos; the Young Croatian Harp Ensemble; and a special installation by eminent Montenegrin and Croatian artist Dimitrij Popović. The week promises many rich sources of inspiration, in a beautiful part of the world.
The excellent Zagreb Soloists will also be joining us, for a concerto evening with soloists Kateřina Englichová (Czech Republic) and Baltazar Juárez Dávila (Mexico). Diverging from the usual Debussy and Mozart, on the programme will be the Castelnuovo-Tedesco concerto, and a new one: “Mysterium druidum”, Concerto For Harp and Orchestra by Sylvie Bodorová.
We’re also very happy to offer a performance opportunity to a young competition winner: Emmanuel Padilla Holguín, winner of the Mexico International harp competition 2016, will give a recital.
