We have long been sponsors of the Lorient Interceltic Festival, which takes place annually in Brittany. It is one of the biggest Celtic events in Europe, typically attracting around 800 000 visitors in the course of 10 days, and welcoming 4500 musicians, singers and dancers from all over the world to its concert stages.
The Camac Trophy has been part of the festival for fourteen years. The competition’s roll of honour bears ever-growing testimony to the brightest and best of modern trad – including, most recently, Kevin Le Pennec, who coincidentally performs for us tonight on Les Jeudis de la Harpe.
The festival has now launched a tombola, which will run online from today until June 20. This tombola offers you unique experiences – including the chance to visit our factory.
Proceeds from the tombola are supporting Lorient’s “New Leurenn / Nouvelle Scène” (new stage) project, which brings together established artists with emerging talents. They co-create and perform a programme, bringing their musical worlds and experiences together. Browse the videos and other reports of past projects here.
New Leurenn collaborations have sparked the launch of albums and the creation of new ensembles. They are true project hubs, focused on creative development both immediately, and with great future potential. This is a particularly rewarding type of cultural support, and we are delighted to be taking part.
