Félix Godefroid International Harp Competition 2022: Final Results
Latest
April 10, 2022
The final results of the senior category of the Félix Godefroid International Harp Competition are:
First Prize: Johanna Dorothea Gorisen (Germany)
Second Prize: Hannah Cope (USA)
Third Prize: Nagisa Tanaka (Japan)
Congratulations to all three prizewinners, and all the finalists on a superb achievement.
It is sometimes hard to believe that we have listened to over 80 candidates in just 4 days! We have been so impressed with the level – as we always are. “The standard was very high” can sound like a platitude, but it is a fact that the level rises year on year, throughout the harp community. All candidates should recognise this, and have confidence in how much they have achieved and how much, collectively and along with their teachers, they are contributing to the harp’s ever-increasing importance in the musical mainstream.
We would also like to extend our warmest congratulations to the fantastic Godefroid competition organising committee: Sophie Hallynck, Jehanne Piret, Aurore Grailet and Heleen Vandeputte, and their team of volunteers. This competition is well-known for its smooth running and welcoming atmosphere and this really does not happen by itself. Just like playing the harp, a huge amount of work goes into the impression of effortless grace on stage!
